Frequent questions

Grips with holes or without holes?

Lately, Fingerless or holeless grips are on everyone's lips and are a trend inside the Boxes. But we must not get carried away by that wave without first considering what we are looking for in our grips and doing it according to our tastes. A pair of grips with holes will always give a greater sense of security and are generally more recommended for any athlete, while Fingerless grips make sense for those who prefer to use them without discomfort in transitions between exercises or for advanced or high level athletes. Fingerless grips are structurally more resistant due to their shape and the absence of angles and perforations in their mold. In the end it is a matter of taste, but these data can serve as a starting point.

How to choose my perfect size?

After making the choice of grip based on thickness and materials based on our needs, we must ask ourselves some questions before choosing the size:Do I only want to protect the palm of the hand, or also the fingers? Do I intend to do the “gymnastic fold”?

We recommend that you always estimate upwards, tending to a higher size in case of doubt between two. To measure your hand and be able to choose yours, follow these steps:

  • Get a ruler or measuring tape.
  • Measure in centimeters or inches the distance between the end of your wrist/base of hand and the base of your fingers.

Any recommendations or special care?

You will notice that with use there comes a time when it is convenient to wash your grips. It is inevitable that in a high intensity sport like Crossfit, we sweat and the grips and any type of equipment end up smelling. At this point you can follow these tips:

  1. It is not recommended that you use a washing machine, although it is possible. The matrix fabrics of the Earwaves grips will withstand washing, but you can damage the velcro closure.
  2. Wash them in cold water with mild soap and let them rest for a few minutes, a time of 10 would be enough.
  3. At the time of drying, let them air dry, it is not convenient to use a dryer.

Apart from washing your Earwaves grips from time to time, there are a series of tricks that can work for you to preserve them better or increase comfort:

  1. You can use moisturizing cream in the area of ​​the holes in case this area is somewhat rough when you wear them, it scratches you, or you simply prefer a greater level of softness.
  2. There are antibacterial sprays that you can use weekly apart from washing them.
  3. It is convenient that after training you do not keep them in a completely closed space, such as the typical pocket of your sports bag.
